Converge Turns to Cameron Clark as FiberXers Look to End Four-Game PBA Governors’ Cup Slide
ANTIPOLO — Converge FiberXers will look to a familiar reinforcement in Cameron Clark as they try to stop a four-game losing streak when they face a confident Terrafirma Dyip in the PBA Governors’ Cup on Tuesday at the Ynares Center in Antipolo.
The game, scheduled for 5:15 p.m., carries significant importance for both teams as the battle for a place in the quarterfinals continues to heat up.
Converge enters the matchup with a 3-4 record and hopes the return of Clark can provide the spark needed to get the team back on track. A victory would move the FiberXers to an even 4-4 record and strengthen their position in the race for one of the top four spots in Group A.
Terrafirma, meanwhile, is also chasing the same target.
The Dyip are coming off an impressive 114-109 upset victory over previously unbeaten NLEX, a result that gave the team renewed confidence heading into the matchup with Converge.
With a 3-4 record, Terrafirma can move into fourth place in Group A if it manages to defeat the FiberXers. The team will also have extra motivation after suffering a narrow 105-103 loss to Converge on July 15.
Cameron Clark Returns to Converge
The biggest storyline surrounding Converge is the return of Cameron Clark, who is expected to strengthen the FiberXers for the remainder of the 12-game elimination round.
Clark is already familiar with the PBA after previously playing for NLEX and San Miguel Beer. His experience in the league could prove valuable as Converge tries to recover from its recent struggles.
The FiberXers decided to bring Clark back after replacement import Jamaal Franklin failed to provide the expected impact during his three games with the team.
Franklin himself had replaced the original import, Jalen Hudson, making Converge's import situation one of the major developments of its campaign.

Terrafirma Has Confidence in Justin Strings
While Converge is making a change, Terrafirma appears comfortable with its current import situation.
Head coach Ronald Tubid expressed confidence in Justin Strings, praising the import's work ethic, attitude and willingness to learn.
“Masipag, walang problema sa attitude. Laging nagtatanong at very coachable,” Tubid said of Strings.
The numbers have also backed up the coach's confidence.
Strings has been averaging 30.67 points, 11.17 rebounds and 4.83 assists, making him one of the key offensive weapons for the Dyip.
His production will be particularly important against a Converge squad that has plenty of size and scoring options.
Converge's Talent Presents a Major Challenge
Tubid knows Terrafirma will have its hands full.
